Chat Program Guide
Step Two: Installation of the
software
You may want to print this guide and have it next to you
when following the steps!
Once the download is complete double-click on the trillian-v0.74.exe
file to start the installation process or choose Open
from the download complete screen.
Read through the License Agreement carefully and click
the Accept button if you agree to the terms listed.
The next window displays some configuration options. The
installation program will suggest to install the program into
your Program Files folder. Also you can choose to "un-check"
the default options listed. Once you have made your selections
click on Go.
A progress window will appear next that will let you view
the installation process. Once Completed appears in
the bottom of the window you can click on Launch.
The Trillian* Configuration Wizard will appear after
the program loads. Click on Next >>.
The default setting should be used in the Initial Profile
Setup. The only reason you would select Specify new
profile settings below would be if you plan on having
more people than just yourself use Trillian* on your computer.
Click Continue.
Only your name and email address are required fields on the
next screen. Once you have that information typed in click
Next >>.
The next wizard steps are designed for you to set up any
instant messaging chat profiles you may have already created
before using Trillian* . For example, if you already have
a Yahoo!* Messenger account you can enter that information
into the configuration screen to Configure Yahoo!* Messenger.
The same idea would apply to existing AOL*, MSN*, ICQ*, or
IRC profiles that you have.
If you do not currently have a profile set up with any
of these services just leave these wizard entries blank. The
program has tools that will allow you to sign up for accounts
after completing the wizard. The instructions to do so are
listed on Step Three Setting up the
Software. We have also provided links to the registration
pages for each program above the Configuration screens on
this page.

In the Configure Proxy wizard section the default
I am directly connected to the Internet selection will
work with normal netINS service. If you are in an office,
or share an Internet connection with other people in your
building you may need to talk to your network administrator
to discover your proxy settings.
This completes the configuration wizard. Click on OK
to begin using the software.
