| Modem Initialization Strings
An initialization ("init") string is the list of
commands that your software sends to the modem to initialize
it and prepare it for a connection. The init string typically
sets options such as speed, error correction, compression,
various timeout values, and how to display results to you.
We have compiled a list of common modems and the init strings
that our customers use with them. These are listed without
any guarantee or warranty. For more information on a specific
modem command, consult your owner's manual, or contact the
